ENRGi was formed to bring the energy and costs savings of geothermal heating and cooling to residential and commercial buildings in the northern New Jersey area. Unlike most contractors that can install this equipment, we focus solely on geothermal environmental controls. In addition to having certification from the IGSHPA (International Ground Source Heat Pump Association), ENRGi also hosts educational seminars on the benefits of geothermal technology for the public.

AltEnergyMag Interview - Geothermal Heating and Cooling

David Goldsholl | ENRGI

1) What does a geothermal heating & cooling system consist of and how does it work?
Your property can be an energy source for heating and cooling for your home, school or commercial building.  The ground temperatures remain the same year round at 54 degrees.  That’s because the earth absorbs 47 percent of all the heat energy that reaches its surface from the sun.  A geothermal system circulates a water-based solution through a buried loop system to take advantage of these constant temperatures.  During the heating season, the fluid circulates through the loop, extracting heat from the ground, the heat energy is then transferred to the geothermal unit.  The unit compresses the extracted heat to a high temperature and delivers it to your air conditioning duct system or radiant heat system.  For cooling, the process is simply reversed.

2) How much does a GHC system get in tax credits?
The federal Government is giving a 30% tax credit for complete cost of system for residential.

3) How fast is payback on a GHC system in new home?
Since GHC saves homeowners 70% in heating & cooling expenses every year, payback period could be 0-2 years depending on what size home & what type of system installed.

4) Are there special conditions need to install a GHC system for a home?
If home has ductwork installed it will make cost to install less. GHC works though ductwork & radiant piping.

5) Does GHC reduce greenhouse gas & pollution?
Yes there is no carbon monoxide in home from GHC, no chimney & less pollution.

6) How long has GHC been around?
GHC has been around for over 30 years getting better every year. The Midwest has used GHC longer than other places, the last few years the east coast has finally caught on.

7) What is the quality of air with GHC?
Better, no dry air. GHC heats the air up to 120 degrees; your typical heating system fries your air to 160 degrees that is why your sinuses get dried out.

8) Where is GHC made?
GHC is made in America. America is the largest manufacture of GHC; we actually ship to other countries more than they ship to America. Creating American jobs.

9) Is GHC safe?
Yes the safest heating & cooling system you can install. NO carbon monoxide produced in your home, no open flame & no chance of fire. Energy from the earth.

10) What's in store for the GHC market in the future?
GHC sales have been doubling during this current recession, while every other area is getting hammered.

ENRGi combines its thirty years of experience in commercial and residential construction with the most experienced industry partners – engineering and drilling companies that have been leaders in the Geothermal heating and cooling field for over twenty years.  These unique skills allow us to design, procure, install and maintain complete systems, and make sure they are operating correctly.
