At our booth we are featuring DPS-375 — 375kW DC-DC converter for utility scale storage. These DC-DC converters can be paralleled to create building blocks of up to 3MWs of energy storage.

Talking SPI 2018 with Dynapower

Tell us about your company.

Dynapower design and builds energy storage inverters, DC-DC converter and fully integrated energy storage systems. Headquartered in Burlington, Vermont Dynapower has deployed over 425MWS of energy storage worldwide. Dynapower has been involved in a number of groundbreaking solar plus storage projects including the nation’s first utility scale solar plus storage facility with Green Mountain Power in Rutland, Vermont; worked with Tesla to take the island of Tua in American Samoa to being run on 100% renewables 24/7; and commercially deployed the first DC-DC converters for utility-scale solar plus storage — lowering the cost to install energy storage alongside solar and increasing energy production and revenues for installations.

Your company will be exhibiting at SPI 2018, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

With the introduction of our DPS line of DC-DC converters for utility scale solar plus storage it is important for us to continue to beat the drum for the economic advantages of DC-coupled solar plus storage. Being one of the premiere solar events this is the perfect place to continue to highlight this new innovation.

Highlight 2 or 3 products you will be showcasing at the event.

SPI 2018 has many educational sessions & demo’s, is your company involved in any of them this year?

We will be presenting on the advantages of DC-coupled utility-scale solar plus storage.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?  Any educational sessions you plan on attending?

We are always interested to see what our competitors and others are bringing to the market in energy storage.

When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

We tend to take a different approach to tradeshows with a smaller booth and separate meeting room for our sales team. We have prescheduled meetings for our sales team to help move along existing projects. Our booth is focused on acquiring new leads that we can focus on following up with after the show. The formula has proven to be quite successful.

A tradeshow of this magnitude is extremely busy and stressful for the staff of exhibiting companies.  Any fun things or places your team can suggest in Anaheim to help unwind?

Flying blind on this one. So any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
