Q&A with David Hart, Board Member, | hy-fcell Canada Advisory

With global energy policies shifting and investments in hydrogen changing, the conversations at hy-fcell Canada have never been more important.

David Hart, Global Hydrogen Lead, ERM, is a hy-fcell Advisory Board Member. He will be speaking in the Opening Plenary called Hydrogen—Green, Gray, or Both? It’s a deep dive into the evolving hydrogen landscape—where does each type fit into the energy transition, and what does it mean for your business?

He recently answered some timely questions about the industry and what you can expect at hy-fcell Canada. Take a look…

With changing policies in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, what strategies should hydrogen companies adopt to stay competitive?

Focus on Fundamentals. Some projects make good sense under many policies and getting those going will help drive the industry.
Be Bold. If you have the reach and resources to encompass many aspects of a project value chain, you have much better control over the economics.

What’s one session or discussion at hy-fcell Canada that you think attendees can’t afford to miss, and why?

The opening plenary will bring together seasoned experts to focus on strategies for succeeding in difficult times. It will set up conversations that can be followed throughout the entire conference.

What’s one success story or breakthrough in hydrogen and fuel cells you’ve seen recently that gives you hope for the industry’s future?

One thing that comes to mind is TotalEnergies agreeing to buy 30kT per year of clean hydrogen from RWE to help decarbonise a refinery in Germany. This shows that demand is out there – it just needs the right circumstances.

Why do you believe hy-fcell Canada is a must-attend event for professionals in the hydrogen and fuel cell space?

hy-fcell Canada brings together technology innovation and scaling, industry longevity, resource expertise and strong finance capabilities in a breathtaking location. I look forward to seeing everyone in Vancouver in June.

David and many other brilliant minds in H2 and clean energy will continue this conversation in Vancouver this June.
